Ceramics.
Unfortunately due to lockdown restrictions I was not able to apply kintsugi to my piece like intended.
My outcome for ceramics is a bust made from black clay inspired by Billie Bond. Through my research, I have recognised that a figurative piece can visually communicate the inner state of mind as well as physical state and by breaking it and repairing it meant to symbolise the healing from one's trauma. My piece resembles a being broken but then mended over time, the gold from the kintsugi applied symbolises both strength and rehabilitation. |
Photography.
My outcome for photography are these old family photos distorted by a scanner, inspired by Adam Magyar. Adam's work follows the concept of capturing street life and the art behind people living their everyday lives. I developed this idea by taking old photos of my family on my mother's side and distorting the images to tell a story from my mothers past, immigrating from her home and how certain aspects of her life were left wavering.

Illustration.
My outcome for illustration these illustrations based of scans I created and inspired loosely by Egon Schiele. They illustrate peoples features elongated and morphed creating an unsettling image that are meant to create a feeling one's self being augmented.

Fine Art.
Unfortunately due to lockdown restrictions I was not able to make a 3D piece like I intended due to a lack of resources at home.
For my outcomes for fine art, I used magazine cut outs to create Kintsugi images inspired by Midori Harima. From my research on Harima, I explored looking into images from magazines and recreating them into something new by tearing them up and then piecing them back together with gold leaf. I then wanted to take these images to then place on a 3D model made from Modroc to be directly be inspired by Harima. |
