As a continuation from Pictus Interruptus we looked into 'disruptive surface'. The task was to find a page out of a magazine to work from, then placing objects to disrupt the surface. I chose a page for a Diet Coke ad, where I really like that it has bold colours and the shadows make it look 3D, which worked with the objects I put on top to make it look like the bottle is with the objects. These objects came from the each one of us and we passed them around so that we'd have a total of 9 images to work from.
Using the DSLR cameras, we aligned it with the page as best as possible so that when the editing portion of the task took place the collage would be effective. I tried my best to position the objects so they worked with the page; for example, the toy solider on the side of the bottle looks like its climbing up and the blue tape where it has the opposite affect of flattening the image. Once I had my 9 photos, I took them into Photoshop and used a template to align them and then made adjustments to colours/levels to complete this exercise. |
