Egon Schiele was a major figurative painter from Austria in the 20th Century. His work is widely known for it's explicitness, drawing many nude models with slender bodies and many self portraits. His work was very stylised, bones being very pronounced and features exaggerated but the anatomy was perfected due to his constant studies. Overall, Schiele's work is very expressive and falls into the expressionism category, his paintings using deliberate broad brush strokes and uniquely toned palettes.
